Estrangement

Estrangement is often a quiet sorrow, one that lingers in the spaces where connection once lived. It can arise from deep hurt, misunderstandings, or the slow unraveling of a relationship over time. Whatever the reason, it carries with it a sense of loss that’s not always easy to explain. For many, there’s a complicated mix of love, anger, guilt, and longing that can be hard to hold. Approaching estrangement with compassion means honoring the truth of those feelings—your own and others’. It means recognizing that sometimes distance is chosen out of self-preservation, and that healing doesn’t always look like reconciliation. In that tender in-between, there can still be space for grace, reflection, and care.
